Carriage of pregnant women

Pregnant women shall voluntarily provide information on their health condition (pregnancy complications, expected date of delivery, etc.). If it is clear from this information that the pregnant woman is in sound health, she can be accepted for carriage without a medical examination.

A doctor's written consent for air carriage is required when:

  • A) Birth is expected within the next four weeks;

  • B) There are pregnancy complications, or the woman has previously had a multiple birth, or labor complications are expected.

Medical clearance must be completed no earlier than seven days prior to the scheduled departure. If medical clearance is required, the carriage rules for passengers with disabilities shall apply.

Air carriage is not recommended for women who are expected to give birth within the next seven days and within the first seven days after delivery.
