ESCORT TP

Expert system for integrated assessment of actual trends in piloting techniques.

The decoded flight data is stored in the special database during the whole operation of an aircraft. Besides, the express analysis software automatically sets a flight path for the whole route, calculates takeoff run and roll distance and climb gradient, and determines more than 60 flying control points. Besides, the base accurately records who operated the flight, a pilot in command or a co-pilot.

The software has been tested on two aircrafts: DHC 8-200 and Boeing 737-200. 9 papers discussing the testing results have been published in the central industry press.

A quantitative assessment of piloting techniques can be given after regulation of each control point by three tolerance levels and calculation of total flight score applying specific algorithms. The quantitative assessment is provided by assigning a specific value, not standard grading system of “satisfactory”, “good” and “excellent”.

Using a mathematical tool of probability theory, statistical and mathematical analysis, we can assess general trends both for a flight element and piloting skills of each pilot.

The most important thing is that the system detects any faults committed by crew during flight and prevents such faults. The latter is the highest priority.

The software allows to transfer from retroactive to proactive method of risk management within the Flight Operations Safety Management System (FO SMS).

 

Flight Data Express Analysis Software for DHC 8-200 type aircrafts

The software development was commenced in 2006 and is still in progress. The software performs express analysis of flight data for DHC 8-200 aircrafts recorded by SSFDR or UFDR recorders.

Based on results of tests performed by the State Center of Air Transport Safety, the express analysis software for DHC 8-200 aircrafts has been released for use (Regulation of the Russian Federation Ministry of Transport, Order of the Federal Agency for Transport Supervision No. 5.6.-578 GA dated August 6, 2005) and included into the Register of Special Software for Flight Data Processing Systems Permitted to be Operated by the Russian Federation Airlines under No. 1005 www.flysafety.ru

The software decodes and analyzes flight data using special algorithms of sixty seven messages (searching for any situations when parameters are beyond the flight limits).

 

Message confirmation displaying principle has been implemented, the software automatically creates a flight path for the entire route, calculates takeoff run and roll distance, climb gradient and determines more than 93 flying control points; all these operations are performed in one technological cycle of the express analysis, and are entered into the data base which, in its turn, represents an information platform for ESCORT TP software.

After decoding of data in an airborne recorder operation division, the results are made immediately available to the pilot in command of a flight division through the corporate computer network. In analysis of flight data, command and training personnel may use any graphic flight materials.

During the entire operation of an aircraft, the decoded flight data is stored in the special database, which allows to run a system, retrospective or personified analysis.

Flight Data Express Analysis Software for Boeing 737-500 type aircrafts

The software development was commenced in 2000 and is still in progress. The software performs express analysis of flight data for Boeing737-500 aircrafts recorded by SSFDR or UFDR recorders

Based on results of tests performed by the State Center of Air Transport Safety, in virtue of Regulation GS No. 24.10-266GA dated September 18, 2002, the software has been released for use by the Russian Federation airlines and included into the Register of Special Software under No. 140.

The software decodes and analyzes flight data by special algorithms of forty three messages (searching for any situations, when parameters are beyond the flight limits).
