Travel Documents


Correct documents are a ticket to success

The official information on documents can be obtained from the consulate of your destination country. A passenger is responsible for proper preparation of his/her documents, observance of all laws, regulations, rules, and prescriptions of government authorities of the country from (through) or to which the carriage is performed.

Prior to departure, ensure that you have your foreign travel passport with visa inserted (or RF citizen passport when travelling across the territory of Russia), paper or electronic air ticket (itinerary receipt), and other documents required for departure/arrival from/to a country.
Detailed information concerning the international rules and regulations of arrival in your destination country may be obtained from the official web site of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) at www.iatatravelcentre.com .

Immigration Rules

According to the provisions of the Federal Law “On the Procedure of Exit from the Russian Federation and Entry to the Russian Federation”, an air carrier’ representatives or any entities authorized by it may require the passengers present their valid identifying documents to check the availability of visas or any other permits required for entering a country of destination.

The Airline reserves the right not to accept for carriage a passenger whose documents are executed improperly.

The passengers booking their air tickets by phone, on JSC Aurora Airlines’ website or any other sites are obliged to observe a correct input of their passport data. Otherwise, they can experience difficulties both during flight check-in and passport control at departure and arrival airports. This obligation of passengers is provided by the Federal Aviation Rules “Common Rules for Air Service of Passengers, Baggage, Cargo, and Requirements to Servicing the Passengers, Consignors and Consignees” (Order No. 82 dated June 28, 2007 of the Russian Federation Ministry of Transport, section II, item 14 “When booking, a passenger provides all necessary information on his/her personal data …”)

Information for foreign passengers travelling to Russia

According to the FEDERAL LAW ON THE PROCEDURE OF EXIT FROM THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND ENTRY TO THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, when entering Russia foreign citizens are required to present their valid documents proving their identity, and visa.

In accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation, a passport with torn or embroidered pages is considered as an invalid document without the right to cross the state border of the Russian Federation. The entry of a foreign citizen into the Russian Federation on the basis of a passport with torn or embroidered pages is illegal.

In this connection, foreign citizens must present on check-in at the airport of departure a valid passport with all pages. Aurora Airlines refuses to carry foreign citizens who have presented an invalid passport.

In case of violation of the requirements of the above law, foreign citizens bear the personal financial responsibility.

Information for passengers travelling to South Korea

Effective from January 01, 2014, the Governments of the Russian Federation and South Korea have executed the Agreement of Mutual Cancellation of Visa Requirements for citizens entering for touristic purpose.
The passengers travelling to the Republic of Korea for touristic purpose must have the following documents on hand:
  • Foreign travel passport valid at the date of entry to the country;
  • Return ticket or ticket to travel to any third country with permission of entry;
  • Statement of banking account or any confirmation of credit limits of any banking card circulating in the territory of Korea, or cash;
  • Any confirmation of booking a room in a hotel or any other accommodation for the whole period of staying in the territory of the country;
  • Migration Card. It is issued during flight or immediately before passport control points.

For study, work, long-term business trip or any other purposes (non-touristic), it is required preliminarily to apply for a visa to consulates of South Korea in the Russian Federation.

The listed documents will be required for check-in for flight at departure airport and at passport control upon arrival in the Republic of Korea.

Information for passengers travelling to China

The passengers travelling to China must have the following documents on hand:
  • Foreign travel passport valid at the date of entry to the country;
  • Return ticket. In case a return ticket is unavailable, you should have a ticket to travel to any third country with permission of entry; cash amount sufficient for staying in China;
  • Migration Card. It is issued during flight or immediately before passport control points.

Russian citizens are allowed to entry China without a visa as a member of touristic group of appropriate tourist agency licensed to provide international touristic service.

The listed documents will be required for check-in for flight at departure airport and at passport control upon arrival in China.

Information for passengers travelling to Japan

The passengers travelling to Japan for touristic purpose must have the following documents on hand:
  • Foreign travel passport valid at the date of entry to the country, with valid visa inserted;
  • Return ticket or ticket to travel to any third country with permission of entry;
  • Statement of banking account or any confirmation of credit limits of any banking card circulating in the territory of Japan, or cash;
  • Any confirmation of booking a room in a hotel or any other accommodation for the whole period of staying in the territory of the country;
  • Migration Card. It is issued during flight or immediately before passport control points.

The listed documents will be required for check-in for flight at departure airport and at passport control upon arrival in Japan.

*The Carrier follows the official international standards of the International Air Transport Association (TIM IATA).

In case the listed documents are absent, the carrier reserves the right not to accept for carriage a passenger subject to Part 1 paragraph 1 Article 107 of the Russian Federation Air Code (“failure by a passenger … in international air carriage … to observe the rules provided by the appropriate government authorities of the country of departure, arrival or transit”)
